Kigali Car Free Day on 6th November
Kigali Car Free Day is back and it’s going to be bigger. The 6th edition is scheduled to take place on 6th November 2016. City residents will yet again get a chance to jog, cycle, walk and interact with their neighbors. For the participants, parking their cars that morning will also help reduce toxic car emissions in the city.
Medical tests and advise will also be offered free of charge at Rwanda Revenue Authority parking ground that morning.
The roads that will be open to only pedestrians and cyclists are: from Amahoro National Stadium-Gisementi-Gishushu-MINIJUST-Ninzi Hill Hotel roundabout-KBC-Kabindi Junction-Rwanda Revenue Authority-Sopetrad junction-City centre roundabout-Car Free Zone
As in the last editions, participants in the car free day will meet at Amahoro stadium, Car Free Zone before they proceed to Rwanda Revenue Authority parking. Participants from Kacyiru will join other participants at Ninzi Hill Hotel while those from Gikondo can join in at Kanogo roundabout.
The following alternatives routes will be designated for cars:
Those coming from Kimironko area: Kibagabaga-Nyarutarama-SOS Kacyiru-Kinamba-Muhima-City Centre or Nyabugogo
Controle Technique road-RDB road-Nyarutarama- SOS Kacyiru-Kinamba-Muhima-City Centre or Nyabugogo
Those coming from Remera: Prince House-Rwandex-Kanogo-Kiyovu-City Centre or Kanogo-Nyabugogo
Those coming from Kicukiro heading to Kacyiru: Kabeza-Giporoso-Controle Technique-Nyarutarama-SOS-Kacyiru OR Sonatubes-Rwandex-Kanogo-Kinamba-Kacyiru
