The City of Kigali started the construction of cobblestone roads around Gisementi-Remera neighborhood area. The cobblestone used are smoother compared to the usual stones that were used in the road construction around Kigali. This time we are using machines to cut the stones
In the Gisementi area we are using granite stones and we plan to construct around 5km in that area this financial year.
This is part of a bigger project that will see the construction of 105 km in the different neighbourhoods of the City of Kigali for a period of four years (2014-2018). However, due to the scarcity of the cobblestones used in the construction, most roads in this project will be paved with tarmac.
