City of Kigali supports families of former staff members who perished in the Genocide
The City of Kigali Vice Mayor in charge of Social Affairs Muhongerwa Patricia today handed over 10 cows to families of former city workers who perished in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
This is part of the City of Kigali initiative to support over 44 families of former city workers who served at the city, commune and sector levels.
"This is an indication that during this Genocide commemoration period we are togather with the families of our former colleagues and this is a sign that we wish to encourage them to live and thrive beyond the sorows of their lost ones," Vice Mayor Muhongerwa explained. She added that the City of Kigali will continue supporting survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and vowed that the city authorities will not relent in dealing with cases of Genocide ideology of revisionism.
