Monday, 31 October - The City of Kigali joined other cities around the globe in the celebration of World Cities Day. The aim is to empower local and regional governments to create greener, more equitable and sustainable cities.

The theme: Act Local to Go Global.

Activities: Celebrating World Cities Day in the City of Kigali was marked by a bike riding session of kids from different public schools and others who were introduced to the beauty of golf . They were briefed on the benefits of planning a city for people as they are tomorrow planners, architects, leaders, decision makers among others.

Key message: The City of Kigali Mayor Pudence Rubingisa challenged participants not to think about cities by jumping straight to thinking about buildings, roads, shops, cars and other physical things we are surrounded by, instead, to think of cities as a home of well-being people.
