Friday 26, July 2019 was unforgettable evening for Kigali residents, as the day that marked the start of free concert series introduced by the City of Kigali, the party that will be taking place every last Friday of the month, from 5pm to 9pm.

The first entertaining concert of its kind organized by the City of Kigali was attended by thousands of spectators’ local citizens and foreigners who live in Kigali, it was a cheerful atmosphere.

The first day of carnival featured artistes of contemporary dance and traditional dance like Indatirwabahizi (the cultural troop of the City of Kigali ), Francois Nsengiyumva aka Igisupusupu , Bruce Melodie ,Abdul Makanyaga, Iganze band, Allioni Buzindu who entertain city dwellers to the highest level.

During the concert, the City Vice-Mayor in charge of Economic Development, Parfait Busabizwa, said the concerts will create a vibrant, and stress-free environment for citizens.

“It’s an initiative we have been thinking about for a long time, before deciding to implement it, because we want to ensure that people in Kigali City have some entertainment after a busy month,”

He insured that the same concert will continue to take place every last Friday of the Month.

“These are free concerts, and we shall be bringing some of the country’s talented entertainers on stage according to your suggestion of best performers you want” he concluded

The monthly concerts will continue to be held at the Kigali Car-Free Zone, but the venue may change depending on the will of citizens and be extended to other parts of the city.
